In November 2022 an application to build 350 homes on land to the west of Buntingford was rejected ( 3/22/1551/FUL).

However, whilst over 1000 Buntingford residents objected, and the planning department listed a catalogue of reasons why the development was completely unsuitable, the developer returned just a few months later and submitted a very similar proposal.

In February 2024 it was rejected once more, with over 1000 objections from Buntingford residents. The developer is once again ignoring this and appealing to the Secretary of State.

Save Buntingford feel that this not only ignores the opinions of the people who actually live here but also undermines their democratic voice.
